Come and be inspired by the history of our wonderful planet, this is a carefully curated immersive Deep Time Earth Walk in the beautiful Surrey Hills an through the history of our planet an universe.

What if every step you took carried you millions of years back into Earth’s history?

Join us for a Deep Time Earth Walk – a guided outdoor journey, packed with information that brings the story of our planet vividly to life beneath your feet.

Set in the rolling geological landscapes of the Surrey Hills, known for its rolling chalk downs, steeped in history and rich with wildlife, this landscape offers a tranquil yet dramatic backdrop for reflection and discovery. 

We will walk in an area of 4,000 acres of breathtaking woodland scenery, the perfect place to enjoy this unique experience as you walk through Earth’s entire 4.6-billion-year timeline, from the planet’s fiery beginnings to the brief moment humans have existed, each stage unfolds as we move gently through the countryside together.

This isn’t just a walk. It’s a chance to expand your perspective, to learn the epic story of the universe and reconnect with the living Earth.

What You’ll Experience

  • Earth’s epic story told step by step, from oceans forming to forests rising, dinosaurs roaming to humans appearing.
  • Guided storytelling and reflection to spark awe, conversation, and fresh insight.
  • Time in nature walking through the stunning Surrey Hills.

Event Details

Location: The Hurtwood Hideout, Surrey Hills.

We will meet for Coffee at 9.30am to depart at 10.00am.

Distance: 4.6 Billion Years over an easy 6.5 MIles (10KM), [4 - 5 hours].

Includes Coffee and Tea and a Country Pub Lunch & drink.

Start Time: 10am

Finish Time: 4.30pm

Kit List: Good walking boots, rucksack, warm jacket, sun protection and water.

Phil Banfield is a Wilderness Facilitator, Mountain Leader, North Downs Ambassador, Coach Geologist and is passionate about the great outdoors and passing on his knowledge to others to inspire them to fall in love with the great outdoors and to use the enabling power of the great outdoors and nature to achieve more in their lives.
