Facilitating Outside – The Fieldwork - Autumn Cohort

Facilitating Outside – The Fieldwork is an experiential learning programme for facilitators and coaches who wish to extend their practice into outdoor and nature-based environments.

This comprehensive programme over 2 months develops the knowledge, skills, and presence required to safely, competently, and creatively facilitate and coach individuals, teams and organisations outdoors.

It combines practical training, activities, self development, scientific insights, theory, first aid training and field assessment on a progressive learning journey. The training takes place in and around Surrey in Southeast England.

Programme Aims

1. To inspire and develop confident and capable facilitators who can design, deliver and lead outdoor transformational experiences for groups and teams outside.
2. To enable participants to share the joy of nature, movement, and landscape as active partners in human learning and development.
3. To ensure a clear understanding of safety, risk, and environmental responsibility when working with groups and teams outdoors.
4. To equip participants with the skills and knowledge to combine facilitation, coaching, and environmental awareness.

• Expert Facilitation
• 6 Days Fieldwork.
• 5 Group Module Calls.
• 2 Individual Coaching Calls.
• 1 x 16 Hour First Aid Certificate.
• Folder with materials for all modules.

The Surrey Hills

The Surrey Hills National Landscape is a 422 km² (163 sq mi) National Landscape in Surrey, England. It comprises around one quarter of the land area of the county and principally covers parts of the North Downs and Greensand Ridge.  It was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in May 1958 and was redesignated as a National Landscape in 2023. The Surrey Hills National Landscape borders the Kent Downs to the east and the South Downs National Park to the south west. The landscape features a mosaic of habitat such as chalk grassland, heathland, and woodland.
