Autumn Wine Trail Walk to Greyfriars Vineyard

We will visit Greyfrairs Vineyard where the vines produce a range of spectacular English Wines reflecting the unique local soil conditions, climate and heritage of the Surrey North Downs.

Our guided &km Surrey Hills Vineyard Walk begins at the Vineyard, we will leave and the walk some of the paths through some of the most beautiful stretches of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, along the Pilgrims Way and past Watts Gallery and onto Loseley Park Estate. 

Loseley, built in the late 16th century, this ornate Elizabethan mansion is renowned for its well-preserved Tudor architecture. The stunning interior features oak-panelled rooms, intricate plasterwork, and a collection of period furniture. has been used in many film productions including  The Crown, The Gentlemen (Film), Bridgerton and in The Gentlemen Season 1.

We will walk at a gentle pace through peaceful footpaths, hidden country tracks and classic English countryside scenery throughout the experience. Along the way, your guide shares stories of the landscape, local history and the geology that gave rise of English wine production in Surrey.

Returning to the vineyard, the experience continues with a hosted tour of the estate and winery, followed by a guided tasting of Greyfriars’ award-winning English sparkling wines. Guests are introduced to the winemaking process from vine to bottle before enjoying a relaxed tasting overlooking the vineyard itself.

You will be guided by Phil Banfield, A North Downs Ambassador, a Geologist and Mountain Leader who has roamed these hills over the last 25 years and is a fount of knowledge of the geology and history of the Surrey Hills.

The walk is risk assessed and Phil is first aid qualified.

Please bring appropriate clothing, a snack, water and sun protection.

The walk includes a guided walk followed by a Vineyard Tasting Tour.
