A Norwegian Mountain Retreat

Five days. One traditional cabin. Endless mountains. No agenda beyond adventure, good conversations and getting outside.

Come with us to the mountains of Norway for a winter escape in the Norefjell range, close to the mountain of Høgevarde and the village of Eggedal.

This is not a conventional retreat.

It is days of stepping away from the noise and into the Norwegian wilderness, moving through snowy landscapes, walking into the mountains, warming up beside a woodburner, cooking together, laughing over waffles and maybe a visit to a riverside sauna.

LIVE THE NORWEGIAN MOUNTAIN LIFE

Our base is a traditional Norwegian cabin surrounded by the winter landscape.

Each day offers the opportunity to choose your own adventure.

Ski. Hike. Snowshoe. Explore. Or simply slow down.

Take to the mountains on cross-country skis, head out for some downhill skiing, or strap on snowshoes and explore the trails around Høgevarde.

There will be time to venture out,  and time to do absolutely nothing.

Back at the cabin, the woodburner will be crackling, boots will be drying and the kettle will be on.

We'll cook indoors and outdoors, share meals around the table and make the most of the simple pleasures of mountain life.

And, of course, there will be Norwegian waffles.

WARM UP. SLOW DOWN.

After a day in the snow, return to teh cabin.

Step in from the cold mountain air and gather by the fire.

Watch the snow fall outside.

These are the moments you'll remember.

FIVE DAYS. A DIFFERENT PACE.

There is something powerful about getting away from everyday life and into the mountains.

No meetings. No notifications.

No rushing from one thing to the next.

Just mountains, movement, fire, food and good company.

You don't need to be an expert skier or an experienced hiker.

You simply need to be curious, reasonably active and ready to embrace the elements.

The total cost of trip will be circa £850.

Includes meals at cabin, transport, snow shoes and accommodation.

Your Guide: Phil Banfield - North Downs Ambassador, Mountain Leader, Wilderness Facilitator and Geologist, who loves guiding people in The Great Outdoors.
