What do our bodies carry from the generations before us?

After his mother suffers a stroke, composer Sam Brukhman enters the space between two minds: a mother relearning language and recognition, and a son trying to understand what has happened.
But their story begins decades earlier.

In everything is okay, Brukhman traces his Russian-Ukrainian family’s journey from the Soviet Union to the United States, and the ways migration, sacrifice, fear, and the instinct to endure can echo across generations. Soviet-era home movies, immigration documents, family photographs, medical images, and recorded voices bring that history into the present.
Performed by Verdigris Ensemble, the 70-minute work transforms Moody Performance Hall into an immersive world of live choir, electronic music, projected film, and spatial sound.

As memory, music, and image fracture and reform, everything is okay asks what happens when a family built on survival can no longer simply endure—and what becomes possible when we begin to heal.

A story about what we inherit, what we carry, and what we choose to leave behind.
