Please join the Vermont Green Building Network (VGBN) for a celebratory evening with green building professionals, VGBN members, partners and friends on Thursday, April 9th at Main Street Landing in Burlington. The 2025 winners of the Vermont’s Greenest Building Awards Competition will be recognized. Learn about inspiring commercial, residential and net zero buildings that create a new standard for environmentally responsible building in Vermont. Don’t miss this great networking opportunity with delicious food and silent auction fundraiser!

This year’s keynote presentation will feature Sarah Waring, Executive Director of the Northern Border Regional Commission. Sarah's talk will focus on the role of government in stimulating economic development in the green building sector, particularly through innovative or creative partnerships.

Event Schedule:

  • 5:30-6:45pm: Networking/social hour, light dinner featuring delicious food, silent auction
  • 6:45-7:15pm: Welcome address, annual meeting and VT's Greenest Building Awards Competition Awards Ceremony
  • 7:15-7:45pm: Keynote presentation by Sarah Waring
  • 7:45-8:00pm: Silent auction winners announced + farewell

About the keynote speaker, Sarah Waring:

Sarah Waring serves as the Executive Director of the Northern Border Regional Commission, where she is responsible for overseeing the Commission's strategic initiatives and managing its programs aimed at fostering economic development in the most distressed counties of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. Waring's career has been dedicated to advancing the needs of rural communities. Before joining the NBRC, Waring was the State Director of Rural Development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for Vermont and New Hampshire, where she managed a substantial investment portfolio and fostered interagency agreements that directed millions of dollars to support rural development. She was also the Executive Director of the Center for an Agricultural Economy and Vice President of Grants & Community Investments at the Vermont Community Foundation.
