Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria:

This update session is targeted at Assistant Practitioners, Trainee Nurse Associates and Health Care Assistants whose role involves administering Flu (including Nasal Flu), Pneumococcal, Tetanus, Shingles and Covid vaccinations or advising on these vaccinations as part of their clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Utilise the updated information to administer Flu (including Nasal Flu), Pneumococcal Tetanus, Shingles & Covid vaccinations.
  • Implement national and local guidelines related to the Flu Immunisation programme
  • Answer patient’s questions about the vaccines with confidence
  • Management of adverse events
  • Undertake data management
  • Understand legal aspects

Pre-Requisites:


  • All delegates need to be up to date with their annual Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis training.
  • Previous completion of the 3-day/6 half-day Flu, Pneumococcal and Shingles course

Refreshments Provided: N/A – Remote session

Cost: This course is free of charge for all those who work in Stockport General Practices.  For all other delegates the cost is £50 per person.
