Course Aim: The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a requirement for all GP health and social care staff to receive training in learning disability and autism. The Oliver McGowan Training is the government's recommended standardised training. However, the Act does not specify a training course. It supports compliance with the legal requirement for CQC registered providers to ensure staff receive role-appropriate training.
Target Audience:
Tier 2 of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is for people who may need to provide care and support for autistic people or people with a learning disability – clinical roles. The Tier Guidance will help practices determine which Tier their staff will need.
Pre-requisites: The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is standardised and to complete it individuals must:
- Complete the elearning for health package first then
- Attend this Tier 2 face to face interactive session co-delivered by a person with a learning disability and an autistic person along with a facilitator
Refreshments Provided: Tea and coffee will be provided. Please take your own lunch with you as required.
