Musculoskeletal Injection Therapy Update

Target Audience:

This session is for GPs and other clinicians working in primary care who have already been trained to administer joint injections and require an update.

Course Aim:

This update aims to enhance delegates knowledge of injection techniques and indications to increase the confidence and competence of clinicians when performing joint injections in general practice. It will focus on the most common joint injections used within primary care.

Learning Outcomes:

The session will include:

• Updated evidence-based knowledge about musculoskeletal injections and their indications
• Practical experience with injection techniques
• Latest safety guidelines including the prevention of complications of use of local anaesthetic agents
• Strategies to integrate MSK injection therapy into your practice
• Discussion focusing on patient selection and patient centred communication
