Step away from the chaos of every day life and let me guide you through a relaxing, multi sensory experience, connecting to nature in a gorgeous woodland on the Isle of Purbeck. We'll be embracing the special seasonal essence of Summer: the fulfilment of potential, abundance, ripening, growth - as nature expresses its utmost manifestation around us, accompanied by long warm days and sunshine.

This half day session will offer you an opportunity to deepen your personal nature connection. We'll start by opening up our senses with a relaxing forest bathing experience, then we'll gather for a nature - focused tea ceremony, with poetry and sharing circle.  You'll be guided in how to safely connect and interact with tree and landscape energies and, should you choose to,  there's an option afterwards to enjoy a group picnic lunch.  Our very special site has abundant mature trees:   birches, hawthorns, ash amongst others - and borders glorious Purbeck heathland habitat.

Forest Bathing, or Shinrin Yoku, as it is known in Japan, is the practice of immersing oneself in the atmosphere of the forest for relaxation and health care. It is a wellness practice scientifically proven to aid relaxation and reduce stress, inviting joy and pleasure through a sensory connection with nature.

Research has shown that a regular 2-3 hours Shinrin Yoku practice can:

• restore mental energy

• relieve stress

• increase concentration

• spark creativity

• strengthen immunity

• reduce inflammation

• lower blood pressure

• improve short term memory

We’ll focus on slowing down and engaging the senses with the natural world, whilst absorbing the special qualities of our gorgeous location in the Isle of Purbeck. You don’t have to have had any experience in mindfulness or forest bathing, just come along with a sense of curiosity and an open mind.

Our group will then be gently guided into individual interactions with different trees around us. You’ll tune in to the ‘genus loci’ of the surrounding landscape and navigate its information blueprint, listening to what it reveals. We will interact in a safe and gentle way as we merge with the living landscape and become part of it.

People who have been on this event say:

" This is my third wonderful experience. Everyone would benefit from forest bathing. It is a wonderful way of helping to cope with the challenges this world throws at you from time to time."

"I feel more energised in a calm way - I am far more aware of the vitality of the life force in me"

"Learn something new and beautiful. Find yourself, nature and your place in nature. Come home"

"I feel grateful for this time which gave me permission to go inside and outside and connect with purpose"
