Welcome to Edit Royale 2026! Be part of the audience or apply to compete.
What makes a hot-shot editor or great edit?
Edit Royale is a fun, live and interactive event brought to you by the Australian Screen Editors. Live at Videocraft Pro's offices in Sydney, five editors have two hours to edit a montage from the same set of rushes. The race is on to stand out before the audience votes on the winner.

Watch the editors make creative decisions under pressure, and see how each editor has a different interpretation of the material.

You'll also be able to use your mobile to vote for your favourite and join in quizzes and polls.

STOP PRESS: As of 4 June 2026, all competitors have been selected.
When getting your ASE Member Ticket, you have the option to apply to be a competitor. If selected to compete, we'll refund your ticket price.
Competitors will be provided with a computer (Mac), special calibrated monitor (EIZO), your editing software of choice (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve), a choice of music tracks (from Audio Network), plus all media files ready to edit. All you have to do is turn up and strut your stuff.
But get in early as the competition is fierce and spaces are limited.
You must be an ASE Member to compete, so join now if not already a member.

How to get there:
- By Train: Alight at St Leonards station and walk down Herbert Street. 20/39 is on your right diagonally opposite SBS and is an approximately 10 minute walk.
- Parking: There is limited street parking available so it's best to seek alternate transport. There are generally spaces in Punch Street and Francis Street, and paid parking is available at Home HQ Artarmon (all a 5 minute walk).

Videocraft Pro is located in the Business Park. As you walk off Herbert Street, there is a pedestrian walkway heading into the Business Park. Follow that to a small crossing on your right, cross the road and number 20 is the first building directly on your right.
Accessibility: Edit Royale is located on the second floor and is accessible via four flights of stairs only, as there is currently no lift access. We understand this may affect some attendees’ ability to attend in person, so we warmly encourage anyone who would prefer remote access to register for the livestream instead.
