Vienna Pipes and Drums 2026 St. Andrew’s Night Ceilidh

Join us for a very special evening as we celebrate the 40th St. Andrew's Night Ceilidh!

Vienna Pipes and Drums will once again be hosting the annual St. Andrew’s Night Ceilidh on 6th November 2026. First held in 1985, the Ceilidh has become a beloved tradition, bringing together the city's fans of Scottish music and dance for an unforgettable evening.

Originally run as a fundraiser for the Vienna International School Rugby Team, the event was organised for many years by our fellow band member and VIS teacher Colin Campbell. Today, the tradition continues under the organisation of the Vienna Pipes and Drums Pipe Band, who are proud to host the Ceilidh for the third consecutive year. This year we are delighted to partner again with the Vienna Celtic Rugby Club. Proceeds from the evening will support the Vienna Celtic youth teams while also helping the Vienna Pipes and Drums continue sharing Scottish music and tradition in Vienna.

Gather your friends and join us for a fabulous evening of traditional dancing, great company, and live music led by Sileas Sinclair BEM - award-winning musician, arranger, and musical director of the Oban Gaelic Choir.

No experience is needed, as all of the dances will be explained on the dance floor. Dress comfortably, kilts and highland dress are encouraged.

A cash bar serving beer and wine, soft drinks and snacks, as well as a fine range of Scotch whiskies, will be available throughout the evening.

The Ceilidh will be held at the Veranstaltungszentrum Döbling, conveniently accessible by public transport. Please note that the venue is not wheelchair accessible.

Tickets will also be available on the door, at the higher price of EUR 35.
