HALLELUJAH TRIAL - album launch, Gustav Adolf Church

Sat 17 Oct 2026 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM BST GUSTAV ADOLF CHURCH, 138 Park Lane, Liverpool, L1 8HG

On Saturday 17 October 2026, Hallelujah Trial play their album inside the building where they recorded it. Doors 8.00pm. With special guests on the night.

Hallelujah Trial are Tom Roberts (Cranebuilders, Beatowls) and John Canning Yates (Ella Guru): two Liverpool songwriters who knew each other for twenty years before they ever played a note together. A weekly ritual of tea, talk and songs became a repertoire, and in April 2026 the songs became an album, recorded in residency at the Gustav Adolf Church, the Scandinavian seamen's church on the edge of the Baltic Triangle.

Spacious, stripped back and gloriously melodic. Voice, guitar and piano, songs in a room, with the building doing the rest. The closing 'Reprise' gathers a hallelujah chorus of friends and family under the church ceiling.

Tickets:

ADMISSION + ALBUM, £27.99 - one seat, and a copy of the album on 180g vinyl handed to you on the night.

ADMISSION + ALBUM + A FRIEND, £37.99 - the same, and a second seat for someone you bring. One record between you.

The record is pressed in a single edition of 250 copies. No streaming release, no re-press. Ninety copies are set aside for this room, on this night. Everyone else's copy is posted from Friday 23 October, so the ninety hold the record six days before anyone else does.

There are 90 seats. This is going out to the Violette mailing list first.
