MADRID WITH A TASTE OF HISTORY: Centenary Taverns and Shops
Share this event
Guided tour of the businesses that have been open for more than a century in the heart of Madrid.
What is this tour about?
Madrid has places that have been open for more than a hundred years. They're still there, amid the noise of the city, holding onto stories no one else can tell. This tour takes you to discover them: centenarian taverns and shops that have survived wars, changing fashions, and the turn of centuries, and that today remain open with more character than ever.
We'll follow the trail of the establishments recognized by Madrid City Council since 2006, when it began honoring these venues with a commemorative plaque and a diploma designed by illustrator Antonio Mingote. A distinction that few businesses can claim, and one you'll learn to recognize along the way.
