KIDS ADVENTURE CAMP: FUTURE LEADERS OF WABASH COUNTY

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Youth (ages 7–12) enjoy a week of hands-on fun. Each day of camp is thoughtfully designed to provide hands-on learning experiences that introduce students to the natural resources, industries, history, and career pathways that shape Wabash County.

This tour is geared towards kids ages 7 to 12.

TOUR ITINERARY:

This day camp hits the road—traveling all across Wabash County aboard Trolley No.85!

  • Day 1: Somerset Area - Environmental Education & Conservation 🐟
    • Fishing, guided nature study, & identify wild-grown medicinal plants
  • Day 2: Richvalley Area: Mining, Skilled Trades & Outdoor Heritage 🪨
    • Tour West Plains Mining, go underground to learn about mining processes, & head to Bass & Bucks for an interactive lesson about archery.
  • Day 3: Roann Area: Agriculture, Engineering & Local History 🌽
    • Enjoy a picnic in a round barn, see a working windmill & covered bridge, & visit with the Wabash City Street Department & Wabash City Police Department
  • Day 4: North Manchester Area: Agricultural Innovation & Engineering 🐄
    • Tour of Kipster (MPS Eggs), North Manchester Center for History, & take a fun dive into Wabash County agriculture & interesting history
  • Day 5: Wabash & Lagro Area: Innovation, Leadership & Environmental Science 💡
    • Tour the Wabash Courthouse with Mr. Woodward, an interactive lesson about horses at Reins and Rainbow Equine & guided creek exploration at Hathaway Preserve at Ross Run

Each camper will receive discovery tools, an adventure journal, a backpack, a t-shirt, a reusable water bottle, snacks, and camper swag, all thanks to our amazing sponsors! ❤️

Inclement Weather Policy for Tours
Weather conditions are evaluated with assistance from Wabash County Emergency Management and surrounding counties’ emergency management in which participating event partners reside. Notification for cancellation will happen no less than 2 hours before departure, however standard practice, whenever possible, will be 4 hours before departure. You will be notified if there is a change via the email that was used to purchase tickets.

Visit Wabash County Program Tours
Should a tour be canceled due to inclement weather, all ticket holders will be issued a full refund. Should the canceled tour be rescheduled for a later date, original event ticket holders will have 5 days advance notice to purchase tickets prior to the public. All tickets and refunds are non-transferable.
