Heritage Access Training: Cohort 7
*Please note that this training is aimed at organisations with a physical venue space and who are interested in improving access information provided online about said space. If you are an organisation with no onsite venue but still wish to take part, please email catrin@vocaleyes.co.uk to discuss the course and VocalEyes' other training opportunities.*
This six-week training course aims to support attendees in developing their understanding of inclusivity and accessibility when creating online access information and digital content. This course will be held remotely using Zoom.
Please let us know of any access requirements you, or members of your team, may have for the online sessions.
This page is to sign up to Cohort 7 taking place on 28th September (session 1) and 8th November or 9th November (session 2). Upon sign up, you will receive a separate link to sign up to your 30 minute feedback session.
The course structure is as follows:
Week 1:
- 1.5 hour introductory session looking at inclusive principles and best practice examples of access information
- Receipt of a personalised report for each participatory site analysing the current state of their access information and identifying key changes
- Receipt of a template for an 'Action Plan' in order to plan how, when, and what changes your organisation is going to make to your access information
- Access to an online collaborative space
- 2x support sessions / “drop ins” to further explore inclusive principles
- Independent work to complete your organisation's 'Action Plan'
Week 6:
- 30 minute 1-1 session with VocalEyes project team to receive feedback on your 'Action Plan' and build your confidence in implementing your planned changes
