Voltaire's Wood 

We are 123 acres of English woodland in the Cotswolds, made up of ash, beech, cherry, hazel and other woods.

A managed wood is a healthy wood. When we took over these woods in 2015, they were quiet: too overgrown for many birds to choose to nest, sacred but not tended.

So we set to work. We look after our veteran trees and nurture the next generation of veterans, we thin overgrown areas, deal with ash dieback (now endemic in English woodland), and replant with a wider variety of natives. Where wood does come down, it used to its best purpose.

We offer firewood, milled wood and coppice products. You can learn about woodland management with us, and even camp overnight.
