In person training:The Crowndale Centre, 218 Eversholt Street, NW1 1BD
Meeting Room 3.1, 3rd Floor (Training and Development)
Do you deliver services to children and young people and would like to understand more about how neurodivergent needs present in everyday settings?
If so, this training session might offer your organisation some mindful and practical solutions; designed to help you build confidence in your understanding and support of neurodivergent children, young people and their families.
Delivered by Seats at the Table founder Richmal Maybank, this training provides a clear, engaging and compassionate introduction to neurodiversity; exploring how young people communicate, learn, process information and experience the world around them.
Topics covered will include:
- Understanding neurodiversity and neurodivergent experiences.
- Recognising common signs of sensory needs, overwhelm, anxiety, masking, emotional regulation differences and communication needs.
- Supporting children, young people and families without requiring disclosure or diagnosis.
- Having supportive conversations with parents and carers.
- Creating more inclusive community spaces through practical adjustments.
- Understanding the experiences of families with complex or layered needs.
- Communicating clearly and effectively with diverse communities.
Whether you work in an after-school club, supplementary education provision, community group or family support service; this session provides realistic strategies that can help create a more inclusive, accessible and supportive environment.
Note for attendees: This training is not about diagnosing or becoming a specialist. Instead, it focuses on helping community organisations feel more confident in noticing needs, adapting communication and making simple changes that can improve access, participation and belonging for neurodivergent children, young people and families.
