Join us for a practical, scenario-based Community Climate Resilience Workshop focused on preparing for extreme heat and power outages. This workshop will have a focus on children, families and others including older people.
Designed for community groups, voluntary organisations, and local partners, this interactive session will explore how the community can better prepare for and respond to climate-related emergencies in Islington.
The workshop will cover:
• Creating a Community Emergency Plan for extreme heat and power outages to protect residents
• Understanding impacts on vulnerable and at‑risk people
• Identifying practical actions to improve preparedness at a neighbourhood level
• Learning from real-life scenarios and shared experiences
• Connecting with other community organisations and local stakeholders working on climate resilience
Through guided discussion and scenario-based exercises, participants will work together to share knowledge and pool resources, so a realistic and practical Community Emergency Plan can be developed.
Please note that registration opens at 9.30am with refreshments. The workshop will start at 10.00am and finish at 1.00pm.
