Please note we encourage people to attend both evening sessions, so please book tickets for both events.

2026 has been the hottest year on record in the UK. Several heatwaves have placed pressures on everyone’s lives, from trying to stay cool, knowing the risks of extreme heat, and dealing with the impacts on wellbeing of those who work in the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector (VCFSE).

Voluntary Action Islington and Islington Council are inviting colleagues who work across the VCFSE to come together to develop better community resilience in both extreme heat and cold weather. These sessions will also enable residents and communities to be equipped to help each other and themselves.

Please join us! We encourage people to attend and book tickets for both evening sessions at Voluntary Action Islington where we will look at:

  • Extreme weather as a public health issue
  • Offer practical DIY tips and techniques that you can use in your home
  • Offer emotional and wellbeing support with Islington’s Bright Lives team
  • Look at how we can support each other through volunteering to help in times of extreme weather

When and where:

  • Wednesday 23rd and 30th September 2026
  • Voluntary Action Islington, 2nd Floor, 200A Pentonville Rd, London N1 9JP
