Third Sector Hustings Event
In our Third Sector Manifesto, we call for fair funding, prevention, and recognition of the vital role community organisations play across South Lanarkshire. As we approach the 2026 Holyrood Elections, this is the time to ask local candidates about their commitment to the third sector and how they plan to represent our community.
At this event you will hear from cross-party candidates and get the opportunity to ask questions. When booking your ticket, you can submit a question in advance - please do so to get your voice heard.
We ask that you arrive between 5.45pm - 6pm to be seated for a 6.15pm start.
Format
· Seven candidates from across South Lanarkshire will be invited.
· Each candidate will have 3 minutes to outline their priorities and commitments for the third sector if elected.
· This will be followed by approximately 45 minutes of pre-submitted audience questions.
· Questions will be selected in advance.
· All candidates will receive the questions beforehand to ensure fairness and informed responses.
· The event will conclude with approximately 30 minutes of open Q&A from the audience.
Event Principles
· Strict political neutrality will be maintained throughout.
· Equal speaking time and treatment for all candidates.
· Questions will align with manifesto themes only.
· A neutral chair will facilitate the session.
· A factual, non-commentary summary will be published after the event.
