Mike is currently the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Monzo Bank, a position he has held for nearly four years. Previously the CISO at Bupa, he has been working in security for 25 years as of this year.

Mike's career began in 1999 with British Telecom, where he developed highly technical solutions. Over time, he progressed through various technical and risk roles, eventually achieving the position of CISO. At Monzo, he leads an exceptional team, striving to redefine security across the bank's infrastructure, products, and customer interactions. The move to fintech has opened his eyes to a new world and innovative ways of working. His team is pioneering industry-first features to enhance security for both the bank and its customers.

According to one survey, 100% of CISOs find their role stressful, with 91% experiencing moderate to high stress. He is focused on creating an organisation capable of delivering quality solutions swiftly and efficiently, but with minimal stress.
