Lief and Icky are back with another delightful suspension-level class!

Rope can be challenging—it makes our brains work overtime. Sometimes, we focus so much on the technical aspects of tying that we lose the playfulness, especially when it comes to suspension. Patterns and structure can take over, leaving little room for discovery and collaboration.

In this class, we’ll shake things up and embrace a more playful approach to building a rope labbing practice. Like a preschooler with a box of crayons, we’ll color outside the lines, exploring new ways to bring joy and spontaneity into our tying. We’ll rediscover how to connect with our partners in the moment. For people in rope, this class will build different skills in communication and collaboration, experimenting with how your needs and desires can shape the experience in exciting ways.

By the end of this class, rope won’t just challenge you—it’ll make you smile. Let’s replace frustration with creativity and connection.

Prerequisites:
This is an advanced level suspension class.
BOTH the person tying and being tied should have A SOLID suspendable chest harness that is not a TK. Arms free, tengu, arms in front are all fine options.
Prior experience tying with your partner and multiple prior successful suspensions. Good upline management on a ring is a plus.

Materials needed:
Rope - 8 to 12 hanks of rope suited for suspension. We will be using Jute. Suspension equipment- we will be using a Ring, climbing strap, and carabiners.
Cutting Tool - Make sure you bring a cutting tool for safety. If you do not have a cutting tool, you will not be able to participate in the exercises.

About the presenters:

Lief Bound (He/They) and Icky (He/They) are queer and trans rope educators and performance artists currently residing in San Francisco, California. Lief Bound is a rope switch who found their love of rope ten years ago and believes that rope can be the most honest way that we can connect with each other. Icky is a switchy pain enthusiast who started their rope bottoming exploration ten years ago and is most passionate about exploring intersectionality and positionality in consent. Their teaching styles bring the best of both worlds combining crucial perspectives of the top and the bottom. They value consent and safety in every topic they teach, bringing an inclusive and trauma-informed approach to learning rope bondage. Lief and Icky are most passionate about using multimedia process art to share their vision with the world and push the boundaries of what defines rope.
