Finding Your Box Tie: a collaborative three-class series
VoxBody is pleased to launch a new three-class box tie series. This will be a collaborative space focused on exploring the box tie that works for the body being tied!
Over the course of three sessions we will:
* build a box tie basic structure (upper and lower wraps) and explore a variety of finishing rope options
* explore the variables that play into how each body gets into a hands-bound-behind-the-back position and then build the structure from this starting point
* become familiar with general lineages of box ties so that we can extract the components that work best for each body being tied
* hone in on the techniques that we need to build a variety of box tie structures
* lab and collaborate, between tying partners and amongst the class group, and test-drive our bespoke box ties!
It is required that tying pairs can attend all three sessions in the series; mark your calendars! MARCH 25, APRIL 9 & 29
Doors will open at 7:15; class starts promptly at 7:30.
Who this series is best suited for:
* Core Curriculum students should have attended our courses through at least 2-3 of the Progressions series before attending the series
* tying pairs who have begun exploring box tie and are still fishing around for the structure that works best for them
* non-Core Curriculum students should have a solid tying foundation together.
For the person tying: proficient column ties, experience managing tension, creating restraint on a body with rope, lock-offs and frictions, and a practiced ability to respond to safety concerns.
For the person being tied: a desire for being bound in a hands-behind-the-back position, experience in rope and in rope in tension, and a practiced ability to monitor, communicate and respond to any safety concerns.
* Attending pairs should already have some amount of regular rope practice together under their belt. We prefer that tying pairs have already had the experience of having to troubleshoot issues in rope together (this is a valuable skillset!).
We will be working together with an assumed baseline of tying experience as described above. Please be honest and humble in your self-assessment so that the group can dig in and progress together! If you are not sure where you land, please email voxbody@gmail.com with some details about your rope experience thus far.
* DISCLAIMER: No body needs to be in a box tie in order to do bondage! And, this series is for people who have interest in box ties, bottoms who have some access to hands-behind-back, and want to find the best box tie option that suits their needs. There are SO many gorgeous varieties of chest harnesses, and we may refer to some of these within the series, but will maintain our focus on the hands-behind-the-back position of box tie.
This series will serve you best if you make time in between sessions to practice and read through resources we will share.
As a way to explore the beautiful variety of ways our bodies get into box tie position, Blue will be demonstrating the ties and techniques on attendees. She will be in touch before the first class to confirm consent from each tying pair for this aspect of the series, but please keep in mind this premise as you decide to sign on!
