How to meet with your MP: Prescribed burning

Our politicians need to hear from us - and it’s time to make protecting WA’s precious forests from prescribed burning a priority!

With the tingles back on the burn plan for this year’s upcoming prescribed burning season, we need people like you to speak up and show our politicians that communities want a change in the way fire is managed in the Southwest.

One of the most powerful things you can do is meet directly with your local Member of Parliament and ask them to take action.

In this online workshop, you'll learn:

• How to contact your MP and set up a meeting
• How to run an effective MP meeting
• How to share your story and why the issue matters to you
• How to make a clear and compelling ask
• Our key objectives and what we’re asking MPs to do

We’ll also do a MP meeting role play - so you can practice your questions and feel confident and prepared for the real thing!

You don’t have to have met with your MP before, and you don’t need to be an experienced campaigner. If you care about protecting the Southwest forests from prescribed burning, we’ll give you the tools to make your voice heard.
