Dash Rip Rock - Cowpunk Pils Beer Release Party

If you're a Dash Rip Rock fan you won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind event. We'll be celebrating the release of a limited-edition collab beer with the band. If you're not sure if you're a Dash fan, you'll soon become one!

THE BAND

Dash Rip Rock is the legendary New Orleans trio known for high-octane roots rock. Industry pundits have heralded them as "undeniably the South's greatest rock band" and "THE best live bar band in the world, bar none." Bill Davis, the band’s founder and frontman, is often credited as a pioneer of "cowpunk," a fusion of punk rock, country, and rockabilly influences. Their music is characterized by fast tempos, catchy melodies, and humorous lyrics, which has landed the band in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

THE BEER

Unquestionably, the band is deserving of a new label, a beer label, and Cowpunk Pils was created in a style befitting the band. Gone are the traditional hops, replaced with a French variety paving the way to a fusion akin to a Cajun-French pilsner, ayeee. The ABV was amped up, giving it a higher octane that Dash fans will appreciate. The brainchild of Killer Bees Brewing (brewers of another Dash tribute beer, Dash Rip Bock), they teamed up with Walking Stick Brewing Co. to produce a limited-edition run of Cowpunk Pils that will be released as part of the band's performance at Walking Stick's beer garden on Saturday, June 22nd.

Come celebrate with the band. Doors open at 6:00pm and Dash will start rocking around 8:00pm.  Acoustic duo, Dan & Kev will be performing ahead of Dash shortly after 6p.

THE VENUE

Dash's big sound will be on display in Walking Stick's quaint outdoor beer garden. Located in Garden Oaks you'll find Wakefield Street is bustling with watering holes, including 2 breweries, a distillery, a winery and a sports bar all on the same block. In addition to Cowpunk Pils, Walking Stick carries approximately 20 other craft beers and seltzers on tap. They also offer wine and canned cocktail options. A food truck will be on-site to satisfy your munchies.
