Walthamstow Walkies: Dog Walk Meet Up & Coffee Morning

Do you have a dog and want to meet other local dog caretakers and enthusiasts?

Do you love dogs, but don’t have the time or resources to have one of your own?

Walthamstow Walkies is a weekly coffee morning meet up and dog walk for dog caretakers and dog lovers to connect, learn, and explore the Walthamstow Marshes together. Join to:

  • Connect with your local community of caretakers and dog lovers
  • Build supportive relationships with people in your area who may become part of your care web for your dog
  • Meet your dog’s needs for connection, play, and exploration in nature
  • Get some advice and support on how to make your dog walks more enjoyable and collaborative from a Dog Behaviour Coach
  • Share the joy of connecting with dogs in nature for those who don't have a dog of their own

We meet at Pulse & Pickle (34 High St, London E17 7LD) to enjoy tea, coffee, and cake together. This is an opportunity to learn how to support your dog to feel safe in public spaces like restaurants, cafes and pubs.

We will then head out to Walthamstow Marshes for an hour of mindful, gentle exploration in nature. This is a casual group walk where you can receive advice and support on how to make your dog walks collaborative and enjoyable. Our aim is to have fun and share our love of dogs!

For dog lovers without a dog of their own, we warmly welcome you to join us, especially if you are interested in becoming a dog walker or carer.

About Meg:

Hi, I'm Meghan, a Dog Behaviour Coach based in Leytonstone. I've spent 7 years supporting clients to build collaborative, attuned, and trusting relationships with their dogs. I started as a dog walker in 2018, and from these years developed my own trauma-informed framework for working with sensitive dogs. I blend knowledge gained from lived experience working with dogs and my own journey of trauma recovery and healing with force-free/relationship-based methods, generative somatics, and polyvagal theory. In 2023 I began my Tellington Touch journey, and am currently training to become a practitioner. I believes in the healing power of intentional relationships, and have dedicated my life’s work to helping dogs and people live in harmony with each other. You can access free and low-cost advice with my online Caretaker Club or if you are interested in 1:1 Coaching you can visit www.walktoheal.co.uk

About Tauntaun:

Hi, I'm Tauntaun, a behavioural neuroscientist and dog walker based in Clapton. I've been a cat parent and a dog walker for most of my adult life, and I've always enjoyed figuring out how to communicate with friends of different species. This hobby had a huge influence on my PhD research, which established field neuroscience, a non-invasive and cross-species approach to studying and nurturing healthy nervous systems outside laboratories. This research informs my other joy in life -- co-creating interactive, full-body learning experiences that are grounded in radical collective liberation.
