Reading for Pleasure Showcase

Join us for an inspiring Reading for Pleasure Showcase at Chesterton Primary School on Thursday 18th June, 9:00–12:00.

Led by the English Hub Lead and Chesterton’s English Lead – who also facilitates our Transforming Schools’ Reading Culture CPD – this morning offers a valuable opportunity to see reading for pleasure brought to life.

During the session, you will:

• Observe reading for pleasure in action across classrooms
• Take part in a guided tour of the school, including thoughtfully designed reading environments
• Explore the pedagogy underpinning reading for pleasure, including why it is so crucial for children’s development
• Gain practical insights into the day-to-day realities, including timetabling and implementation in busy school contexts
• Engage in professional dialogue with colleagues, sharing effective practice and learning from one another across schools

This is a fantastic opportunity to reflect on your own provision, gather ideas and leave with clear, actionable strategies to strengthen a culture of reading in your school.
