Developing Greater Depth Writers - Autumn Offer

Autumn Offer: Schools can send multiple delegates on all 3 sessions for only £200. The Autumn offer special price ends by start of session 1.

We're delighted to have partnered with the National Literacy Trust whose Head of School Programmes, Martin Galway, is running this highly practical course.

Each tailored session will provide accessible accounts of the features of writing that are indicative of working at greater depth, including characteristics of strong writing across year groups. Martin will draw upon exemplifications to tease out some best bet approaches to securing evidence of achievement.

The course will meet the following aims: 

• to gain confidence assessing writing at ‘greater depth’- knowing what it is, and what it isn’t
• to identify key aspects of writing that support the long term development of writers more likely to achieve the GDS benchmark
• explore examples of work from pupils who might be considered working at greater depth and gain clarity on what makes good writing evidence
• explore writing opportunities and texts that are well-placed to provide good evidence to demonstrate pupils’ learning

Individual sessions can be booked for £100 per school.

• 7 days or less: No refund
