Watts Hall Community Players brings you Starship Pinafore [HMS Pinafore]: the classic Gilbert and Sullivan plot of forbidden love, unforeseen plot twists and a farcical ending. Captain of Starship Pinafore’s daughter is in love with a lowly but gallant crew member but, the Captain forbids the marriage, wanting her instead to wed the well-bred Admiral of the Fleet.
In the meantime, the Captain finds himself in nearly the same position as his daughter: his former nanny, Buttercup, falls in love with him, but he hesitates to reciprocate due to his higher rank. The whole situation is turned on its head when Buttercup reveals a game-changing secret she has kept for decades. A rollicking farce with endearing characters, memorable tunes, and a hilariously happy ending.
