"Resistance in Modern Poetry: A Creative Writing Workshop" with Jazmin Witherspoon

Workshop Description:

In this generative writing session, we will explore examples of resistance poetry through the examination and experimentation and various contemporary poetic forms, such as the Abecedarian, the American Sonnet, and the Duplex.

Facilitator Bio:

Jazmin Witherspoon is a Missouri-born Southerner and writer.  Her poetry has been featured in Pigeon Parade Quarterly, Cacti Fur & the Monarch Review, and more.  She is the 2023 winner of the University of Kentucky’s KLP Broadside Poetry Contest.  Jazmin has an MFA in Creative Writing Poetry (class of ‘24) and was the 2022 & 2023 Nikky Finney Fellow at the University of Kentucky.
