2026 WCS Youth JIVE (14 & 15 Year Olds)

The WCS Youth JIVE is an interactive opportunity for youth (ages 14-15) to learn how to use volunteer and entry level internship positions as a springboard into paid job opportunities at WCS’ Zoos and Aquarium down the line. You will have the chance to attend a workshop, meet youth alumni, and connect with volunteer & intern hiring managers.

Timed entry available into the event space at 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM

How long does the event last? Should I arrive at the time on my ticket?

The event will last for approximately 1 hour. Your timed ticket indicates the start time for the event. Please arrive at the event space approximately 10 minutes early to allow for entry. 

When can I arrive at the Bronx Zoo?

If you are interested in exploring the Bronx Zoo before the event, we encourage you to arrive at the zoo early- we open at 10:00 AM. While you’re also welcome to explore the zoo after your session ends, kindly note, however, that animals will go off exhibit at 4:00 PM.

Do I need to bring a chaperone (parent/guardian or other adult)?

Chaperones are required for all attendees under 16. A chaperone is included in your registration; there is no need to register separately for the chaperone.

I am 15, but am turning 16 soon; which session should I attend?

If you will be 16 before June 1, 2026, then you should select a 16+ time slot (which you can find on our website- https://bronxzoo.com/teens/wcs-youth-jive

I’m 14, and my sibling is 17. Do we need to register for separate sessions?

It’s up to you. The session for 14-15-year-olds is specifically designed with that age group in mind. However, all the opportunities will also be available at the 16-26 event. If you can only attend one session together, we suggest that the younger sibling join the older age group’s event rather than the other way around.
