Harvest the Musical

Sunday 21st December | Inverleith St Serf's Church Centre, Edinburgh

Join us for an intimate concert performance of Harvest the Musical by Scottish-Palestinian composer, writer and performer Amira Al Shanti, with musical arrangements by award-winning singer-songwriter Gordon Robertson.

This powerful musical follows the story of the Olive Harvest in Palestine through the eyes of Scottish-Palestinian Zahra, showcasing how traditions and identity prevail despite the ongoing challenges of occupation and apartheid.

Following a 5-star performance at the Edinburgh Fringe, Amira and Gordon present a unique showcase of songs and a reading of the plot, honouring the resilience of Palestinian culture and community.

About the Fundraiser

The most famous Palestinian festival is upon us: Christmas. As the world watches the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine, many feel helpless about what they can do. Amira is first generation of her family born outside of Palestine, and watching 90+ of her family members be killed in the last two years is an experience that words will never capture.

From babies to elders born before the creation of Israel in 1948, every life should be honoured. Several of Amira's relatives made international news, including Dr Taha Al Shanti who was a director of medicine. Gaza's infrastructure now requires global efforts to be restored – this includes schools and hospitals.

Now, more than ever, we need to gather together as a community in the true spirit of Christmas and use our energy to support the survivors of genocide.
