The Inn on Wayfarers Lane
Welcome to The Inn on Wayfarers Lane, where everyone is welcome and no questions are asked.
You wander through the forest, the trees looming overhead and the light slowly leaks from the sky. Your legs are heavy and your stomach is growling loudly. You are desperate for a good meal and somewhere to rest your weary head.
Then in the distance you spot the curling of smoke and through the trees you see a red brick building, nestled in the woods. Inside the fire crackles, mead is poured and a hearty stew is served. As you gather around with the other world wearied travellers you begin to learn that not all who wander are lost and some have hidden stories to tell.
The Inn on Wayfarers Lane, an eight-week online narrative improv course for advanced improvisers who want to explore the art of long-form storytelling through an ever-changing collection of characters, encounters and interconnected lives.
Each week, a new group of travellers will arrive at our inn, bringing with them their own worlds, relationships, troubles, ambitions, and mysteries. Through ensemble scene work, we’ll discover who these people are, why they’ve come, what they’re running from and what might happen when their paths cross with the innkeepers, the regulars, and the other souls sheltering under the same roof.
Together, we’ll build a living, breathing world in which stories emerge organically, characters develop over time, and seemingly insignificant moments can ripple into something extraordinary. We’ll explore recurring characters, interwoven storylines, unexpected connections, meaningful callbacks and the delicate balance between planning a narrative and allowing it to surprise us.
