St Patrick’s Weekend Fleadh Cheoil at Trinity Centre - Brought to you by W.E. Irish

This year, St Patrick’s Weekend in Bristol takes a different but deeply intentional shape.

Rather than a traditional parade, we are creating a full day Fleadh Cheoil style celebration at Trinity Centre, bringing together music, dance, learning, and community across multiple spaces, all under one roof.

This approach allows us to support Irish culture in richer, more sustainable ways, while creating a warm, accessible, and vibrant experience for everyone who attends.

Why This Event Looks Different This Year

Organising a city parade now requires significant volunteer capacity, rising security costs, and complex logistics. Rather than scaling back our ambition, we chose to reimagine how we celebrate.

This Fleadh Cheoil:

• Allows multiple activities to happen simultaneously
• Supports more artists, musicians, and dancers
• Creates space for participation, not just observation
• Is more accessible for families, older community members, and those new to Irish culture
• Keeps the focus on culture, connection, and continuity

This is not a reduction. It is an expansion in depth.

A Multi Space Celebration

Throughout the day, activity will run across three distinct spaces, allowing you to move freely and shape your own experience.

You might be dancing at a céilí on one stage, listening to a session in another room, while children take part in music learning nearby. This is intentional. Irish culture thrives through shared spaces, overlap, and informality, and the event is designed to reflect that.

No prior experience of Irish music or dance is needed.

Family friendly crafts and participatory activities sit at the heart of the day, reflecting the social and creative traditions that are central to Irish culture. Alongside the music and dance, there will be opportunities to take part in hands on activities, informal learning, and shared cultural moments that welcome children, families, and those who prefer a quieter pace. These spaces are designed to encourage curiosity, conversation, and connection, offering different ways to experience the celebration beyond the main stages.

All of these activities are located within an area of the venue that is fully accessible by lift, allowing visitors to move easily between spaces throughout the day. This ensures that people of all ages and mobility needs can comfortably enjoy the full range of what is on offer. The layout supports choice and flexibility, enabling everyone to engage at their own pace while remaining connected to the wider energy of the event.

This is a popular St Patrick’s Weekend celebration and capacity is limited.

PMG Stage

Main Stage | Live Music & Dance

The PMG Stage is the heart of the event, featuring extended live sets and large scale performances.

 🎶 New Hibernia -A lively opening set to kick off the day with traditional Irish sounds and a strong communal feel.

🎶 Beaufort Sessions -A relaxed musical session blending traditional tunes with a social atmosphere.

 🎻 The Ceili Collective -A long céilí style set, perfect for dancers and listeners alike. Expect atmosphere, pace, and plenty of lift.

 Moulin Bouge - Not to be missed

💃Horizon Dance School - High energy Irish dance performance bringing rhythm, movement, and flair to the stage.

🎵 Poor Ole Dogs - An evening headline set to close the day with warmth, character, and classic Irish session energy.

FYFE Hall hosts shorter performances and sessions, ideal for dipping in and out.

UPDATED: There will be food vendors available nearby within the car park during the event, and a card bar will be available on site.

Tickets are 100% refundable up to 30 days before the event.
Tickets are 50% refundable up to 14 days before the event.
