FEAST FOR GOOD! To celebrate this year's Refugee Week, we invite you to join us in our love for great food and music. We will be providing a 6 course set degustation menu. This will be your chance to sample the cuisines cooked by Welcome Merchant refugee and migrant chefs, Sangee's Asian Fusion (Malaysian), Bavan Foods (Sri Lankan) and Racha's Syrian Kitchen (as featured in Good Food). Listen and/or dance to music from their homelands, with live music from Syrian singer and oud player George Karam.
There will be a Raffle Draw on the day too, the proceeds from this will go towards sponsoring First Nations guests at the upcoming Victoria NAIDOC Ball in July. There are amazing prizes up for grabs, such as a hamper from Goods for Good, a $350 Incu voucher, wines from Mike Bennie (co-founder of P & V Wine Merchants), a Spoil Me Good Box from us, meal vouchers at Parliament on King and Uma Curry and Roti, Broadsheet Media cookbooks and other delicious treats from Lulu's Sydney and Racha's Syrian Kitchen.
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at least 3 days before the event.
Ticket sales empowers the refugee and asylum seeker entrepreneurs we work with. Eat well to empower! Limited tickets are available so hurry! Ticket sales close at 5pm on Wednesday 22nd June.
We will also be selling a limited number of Goody Boxes on the day too, as we're donating $5 from each Goody Box sold until June 25 to the Refugee Advice Casework Service, a community legal centre that provides free legal assistance to refugees, people seeking asylum and forcibly displaced people.
