The Welsh Occult Conference May 15th 2027

The Welsh Occult Conference ~ promoting the written and spoken Occult word since 2004!

Returning once more to Welshpool Town Hall, on May 15th 2027 for a conference filled with talks by practising Occultists on a plethora of subjects.

*Geraldine Beskin of Atlantis Books, speaking on the Victorian Occultist Frederick Hockley, and his accounts of his conjurations of spirits.

*Julia Phillips ~ Hermetic Magic for the 21st Century

The phrase ‘Hermetic Magic’ inspires visions of ancient Arabic texts, the Emerald Tablet, Hermes Trismegistus, and Renaissance philosophers. What, you might wonder, has any of that to do with practical Hermetic Magic in the 21st century?

In this illustrated talk Julia Phillips will show how these threads from the ancient world have been woven by scholars and philosophers from Medieval and Early Modern Europe, creating a rich tapestry that has been inherited by 21st century Hermetic Magic practitioners.

The presentation will show how modern Hermetic Magicians access the elemental realms and interact with elemental sovereigns, rulers, angels, and elementals. The importance of the astral temple, higher self (Holy Guardian Angel), and aspects of the magical personalities, are shown within the context of practical Hermetic Magic, leading to what lies beyond the astral temple.

Julia Phillips PhD is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Hon Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. She is a published author and experienced lecturer, with 44 years experience of studying, practising, and teaching Hermetic Magic.

Her main contribution to the development of Hermetic Magic has been to adapt the training to suit online courses and workshops, supplemented with theoretical material and a structure that suits 21st century practitioners.
