WHY CONFLUENCE?

For those that keep their eyes, hearts and ears open - it is easy to see and to feel the potential dangers of further disembodiment and disconnection from nature, community and our own hearts. Sensing imminent change in both climate and social structures, we propose counter-action.

Our intention is not to fight what is old but to research pathways into alternative futures where hearts align. We know we can't do it alone. That is why we call you, those who care and are interested to gather and to work together, to question and to learn about the causes, conditions & the shared possibilities for creative and generative action.

WHAT IS IT?

CONFLUENCE is a residential program focused on the process of collectively embodying heart-based ways of living and relating, both with ourselves, each other and Nature. We are interested in researching transformative practices & rituals that open and rewire attention and perception, thus activating new pathways for creative and generative action.It is not (only) about the Present Moment. It is about the Emergent Future. With feet planted on the Here~Now, the invitation is to extend our gaze further and see beyond the immediacy.During the residency each participant is invited to collaborate, co-create and co-lead the unfolding of the program by sharing their own gifts, interests, ideas, projects and practical knowledge in relationship to Contact Improvisation, Eco-Somatics & Community Weaving.

Participants are welcome to bring pre-existing projects they would like to continue developing, new projects, or simply to open to the emergent properties of the meeting, re-learning to trust intuitive knowing, collective intelligence and the space between us.There will be space for talks, jams, laboratories and creative work.The process will be documented and edited into a short poetic documentary by a dedicated videographer. Through the film we aim to reach out and connect to the global network through sharing the inner life of the residency, thus opening doors for future collaborations & co-inspiration.

WHERE

CONFLUENCE will take place at the wonderful ESTÚDIO YUCCA (Tavira, Portugal).Estúdio Yucca is an embryo project; living on experiments and sustained acts to achieve a sense of art, community and creativity. Just meters from the north atlantic ocean in the eastern point of the Algarve, Portugal, this space first originated as a pottery studio creating traditional Portuguese handmade tiles.

CONTRIBUTION

To keep the project accessible, we propose a basic cost that covers food and space rental.
This does NOT include accommodation nor payment for the organizers.

BASIC COST (food + space x 9 days) = 290 €

At the end of your participation, you will have a chance to contribute to the organizers:
