Lesley Garrett in Concert

Yorkshire-born soprano Lesley Garrett CBE makes a welcome return to the Wesley Centre for the first time in seven years.

Lesley is Britain’s best-known soprano, regularly appearing in opera, music theatre, concert, on television and CD. As one of Britain’s best-loved classical performers, Lesley Garrett has enjoyed a career spanning more than 30 years, taking opera and classical music to audiences around the world while becoming a familiar face on television and radio. She has enjoyed one of the most successful and idiosyncratic careers of any modern-day, classically trained soprano, winning both critical acclaim and the affection of many fans and music lovers through the breadth and diversity of her work. Internationally Lesley has performed throughout Europe, the USA, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and South Korea.

Lesley continues to perform regularly in concert with all the major UK orchestras including the Hallè Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lesley Garrett will be accompanied by Anna Tilbrook, one of Britain’s most exciting pianists, with a considerable reputation in song recitals and chamber music. She made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1999 and has since become a regular performer at Europe’s major concert halls and halls and festivals.
