Course Details
Running in one of the West Dean College Workshops alongside the ROSA Botanical Art Fair. Explore screen printing onto paper using sustainable natural dye colours.

Taking inspiration from the gardens of West Dean, you will learn how to cut a simple stencil print design. The natural dye printing inks are made from leaves, roots, and flowers, and they make entrancing and harmonious colours.

For those interested in developing their practice further, this taster provides an introduction to Lara's range of short courses at West Dean College.

No previous experience is required.

Materials and Equipment
All necessary materials and equipment will be provided for use on the course.

About Your Tutor
Lara studied textiles in Brighton, and is an inspirational, creative print designer. She has sold work to major fashion brands, printed scarfs and hangings, and exhibited her intricate fabric designs. Lara paints, researches sustainability, and collaborates on artistic projects. She is an experienced and accomplished drawing and fabric design tutor.

General Information
Short courses are open to anyone aged 18 and over. Short course Vouchers are not useable against Taster sessions. Please enter through the West Dean Gardens entrance and sign in at the Gardens Gatehouse.

Creative taster sessions are exclusive to ROSA Botanical Art Fair ticket holders. You must have a valid admission ticket to the Fair for the day of your tour. Tour tickets are an additional cost and must be booked separately.

 Refunds and Cancellations
Cancellations are permitted up to 7 days before the start of the taster, cancellations within 7 days of the tour are non refundable. You have the right to cancel within the statutory 14 day cooling off period If you have any questions or queries please contact us at meetings@westdean.ac.uk. 

We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this where possible, but sometimes it is unavoidable. In this situation, a full refund will be given. We’re sorry that we cannot be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions, travel disruption or any other situations that are outside our control.
