Make your Christmas gifts extra special this year with beautiful, personalised calligraphy, embossing, and engraving. The Modern Calligraphy Co. will be at the Christmas Market, offering a live calligraphy personalisation service. Bring your pre-purchased glass, paper, or leather gifts and have names, initials, or custom details added to create a truly unique present.

Entry to the market is by pre-booked time slot, we invite you to use this time to explore everything the house has to offer. Afterwards, continue the festive spirit outdoors and discover the rest of the offerings or take a stroll around the gardens, all at your own pace.

Creative Taster Sessions
Fancy making your own gifts or picking up a new skill this Christmas? Try your hand at a new craft at one of our creative taster sessions running throughout the Christmas Market. These are beginner-friendly two-hour sessions covering a range of crafts in a relaxed, small-group setting. Market entry and all materials are included, so just bring your creativity and a bit of festive cheer. View Taster Sessions

FAQ's

Do I need to prebook?
Yes, we recommend pre-booking where possible. Tickets are limited and are expected to sell quickly. A limited number of tickets will also be available to purchase on the day.

I am a Gardens member do I need a ticket? 
West Dean Gardens members do not need to pre-book. Members can purchase tickets on the day at the discounted rate of £9.50. Please remember to bring your valid membership card with you to receive the discounted price.

Are dogs welcome? 
Dogs are welcome outside on leads. Only assistance dogs are welcome inside the house. 

What are the preferred method of payments onsite?
Card is preferred, but some stall holders may accept cash only. Please bring both to avoid disappointment. 

Accessibility inside the house. 
For wheelchair users, please enter the building from the east side of the house, via workshops. The market is a 5-10 minute walk from the car park, accessible parking as close as possible is available subject to availability 

Parking 
Please enter via the gardens entrance. Do not park on the main road. Please consider bringing a torch for low lit areas. 

Public Transport 
Please enter via the gardens entrance. If you are coming via public transport the number 60 bus stops just outside the gardens entrance. 

Cancellations:
Cancellations are permitted up to 14 days before the start of the event, cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. You have the right to cancel within the statutory 14 day cooling off period If you have any questions or queries, please contact us at meetings@westdean.ac.uk.

We reserve the right to cancel an event in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this where possible, but sometimes it is unavoidable. In this situation, a full refund will be given. We’re sorry that we cannot be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions, travel disruption or any other situations that are outside our control.
