The Western Hazard Tree Workshop is a great way for forest pathologists and arborists to meet jointly and focus on hazard tree issues in both urban and forested settings. The indoor session will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn located in downtown Wenatchee. The agenda is a blend of both indoor and outdoor presentations with a day and a half of indoor presentations and a day and half of field trips. Both the indoor and field sessions will focus on legal issues, survey and detection methods, post fire treatments and tree survival post fire, types of decay, and lessons learned. The location of the workshop provides an opportunity to visit hazard tree treatment projects and discuss the complexities of implementation for both the local Forest Service and Washington Department of Natural Resources managers. We will also have a poster session and the infamous photo contest!
