Wonderfest Free Art Workshops
As part of Wonderfest 2026 we are hosting a day of free art workshops led by professional local artists. This year one of our workshops will be specially available for participants 13 years of age and younger!
We expect these workshops to fill up fast with a waiting list. To ensure the workshops start on time, participants must arrive 15 minutes before the start of their scheduled workshop. At that time, any unclaimed slots will be released to the waiting list.
Wonderfest 2026 Free Art Workshops
Tie Dye Socks with Jada Hobson - Participants 13 years old and younger will use fabric dye, rubber bands, gloves, dye bottles, and protective table coverings to create their own designs using basic folding, twisting, and tie-dye techniques. Each participant will leave with a customized pair of tie-dye socks and learn basic color mixing, pattern creation, and safe dye application while exploring creativity and self-expression.
Mixed Media Collage Coasters with Kayleigh Deeks - Participants will learn how to use simple techniques to create a collaged background by having the option to tear or cut pieces of paper. Beginner-friendly paper mosaic techniques will also be demonstrated. Participants will learn how to repurpose materials such as old books, magazines, junk mail, etc., - hopefully changing their outlook on what is typically seen as disposable, allowing them to continue easily creating at home without having to break the bank!
Polymer Clay wearable pin with Jasmine Gonzales - In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create a one-of-a-kind wearable pin using polymer clay. They will choose from a variety of cutters and simple templates or create their own freeform shape. They can then personalize their pin using texture, carved details, patterns, and acrylic paint. Rather than requiring everyone to create the same design, participants will be encouraged to experiment with imagery, colors, words, patterns, and other elements that reflect their individual personalities and interests.
Connect With Your Canvas with P31 Art & Design - a visual art workshop that challenges the idea that art is only accessible with our eyes. It is through this workshop that we will explore ways to create works worthy of hanging using only our hands. This workshop is a guided workshop using tempera paints, chalk pastels, 9x12” watercolor paper, and techniques inspired by the 19th century Impressionist Arts Movement.
