West Horsley Place is a place filled with stories, a place to be discovered and a place to inspire creativity.
We are a 400-acre estate set around a Grade I listed manor house. For over 1,000 years the estate has been a private family home, barely visible to, and certainly not visited by, passers-by. This all changed in 2015 when its last owner, Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe, bequeathed the entire estate to her nephew, the historian, TV personality and author, Bamber Gascoigne.
Bamber had a vision to transform West Horsley Place into a centre that promotes visual and performing arts; a place where people can be creative themselves and be warmly welcomed into an estate rich in history and relaxed in its informal approach. At our heart is the belief that art, culture and nature improve people’s wellbeing. And we have all of those in abundance!
