City Retreat: a Weekend of Full Immersion
You don't need to spend 3 hours in a train to go to the forest in order to do a retreat. You can do it at your doorstep at the heart of Westminster.
You're busy. You're connected to everything and everyone, and somehow still feel like something's missing. Your mind hasn't stopped in weeks. Maybe months.
This is for you (you don't have to be Buddhist to join)

City Retreat: A Weekend of Full Immersion
Friday 5 — Sunday 7 June 2026 West London Buddhist Centre, W2 5DP
Breakfast and Supper provided (bring lunch to share Saturday and Sunday)
Led by Amalavajra and Amlanadhi
What this weekend actually is
Not a yoga retreat. Not a wellness course. Not another thing to optimise yourself with.
It's two and a half days of genuine stillness, meditation, Dharma teaching, shared meals, walking in nature, in the company of people who are showing up for exactly the same reason you are.
You'll leave quieter. Clearer. Less alone than you arrived.
What the weekend looks like
Friday 5 June — arrive from 6:30pm You don't need to do anything to prepare. Just show up. Supper is provided. We'll ease into the weekend together — an introduction, a meditation, a ritual. You'll be home by 9pm.
Saturday 6 June — 8am to 9:30pm The heart of the retreat. Morning meditation before the city wakes up. Dharma teaching in the shrine room. A shared lunch you bring something for, because eating together matters. An afternoon walking meditation in nature, then tea, then evening meditation and ritual. You'll sleep better than you have in months.
Sunday 7 June — 8am to 4pm A gentle close. Morning meditation. Teaching. Shared lunch. An hour of reflection and then, the part people remember most, intention setting and closing ritual. You'll leave with something to carry forward.
