What does it mean to live an integrated life? Exploring ethics, stillness and insight
This practice day will be a practical exploration of the Threefold Path - Ethics (Sila), Meditation (Samadhi) and Wisdom (Prajna) as a powerful framework for aligning our values and intentions in meditation and everyday living. Rather than treating these as abstract concepts, we will examine how they can serve us as a feedback loop: how ethical integrity and sensitivity steadies the mind, how a steady mind fosters deep stillness, and how that stillness allows for life-changing insights of wisdom (seeing things how they really are).
Through a mix of meditation practice, reflection and collective inquiry, we will learn to bridge the gap between "on the cushion" practice and the complexities of our daily living, leaving with a clearer sense of how to live with greater purpose, presence, and ease.
Sun 19 July with Jayakara
My name is Jayakara, which means “she who has a multitude of victories.” I was ordained in October 2009 at Akashavana in Spain.
My initial involvement with the Triratna Buddhist Community was when I first went along to the London Buddhist Centre in 1990. I was introduced to the metta bhavana meditation practice first and it is a practice that continues to inspire me and in which I have great faith. My practice is central to who I am and guides and motivates me in this life. I am still waiting to be stirred by a text to study and share with you on the day, which I will let you know nearer the time.
