Are you involved in providing careers and skills-related information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to residents in the West of England? This training session will equip you with the knowledge and resources to support people to unlock new opportunities in the retrofit sector.

Why Retrofit?

Our path to net zero is a catalyst for new careers. Retrofitting homes to make them more energy efficient has the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions. Growing the retrofit sector is key to reaching the UK’s net zero targets. This sector opens up lots of new opportunities for people working in the built environment, as well as those with transferable skills from other sectors such as energy advice or project management. Come along and learn about opportunities in retrofit so you can advise residents on how they can be at the forefront of a growing sector essential to achieving the UK’s net zero targets.

What will I learn?

In this session, you will:

  • Discover what retrofitting is and the projected growth of the sector
  • Explore pathways for new entrants and seasoned professionals looking to upskill
  • Learn about available training and grants
  • Hear about the local network opportunities for professionals
  • Gain insights into Labour Market Information (LMI) and where jobs are commonly advertised in the sector
  • Access key information and resources to help guide individuals interested in retrofit careers

Attendees will be awarded a digital badge to recognise the knowledge acquired in the session.

Who is this for?

The session is tailored for professionals providing IAG, empowering you with the knowledge, training, and resources to support residents to take up new opportunities in the green economy. No prior knowledge of retrofit or green skills is needed.

What have others said?

“From my perspective this was excellent. I knew very little before attending but it was clear, simple and easy to understand.”

“I feel far more confident following this training…”
