Skills Connect network: Understanding future skills needs

Wed 25 Nov 2026 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM Engine Shed, BS1 6QH

Are you a training provider, school, college or VCSE organisation looking to plan future services and better understand changing skills needs across the West of England?

Join us at our next Skills Connect Network event, where we'll explore regional Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) to inform future planning, identify gaps in provision and respond to evolving employment and skills trends.

This session is particularly relevant to VCSE organisations, schools, colleges, training providers, careers professionals and employment support services looking to understand how the regional labour market is evolving and what this means for the people and communities they support.

We'll bring together regional intelligence, employer insights and practical examples to explore where opportunities are emerging, which skills are becoming more important, and how organisations can adapt their services to meet future demand.

The session will cover:

  • Current and emerging skills gaps across the West of England
  • Employer insights from Business West's Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) team, highlighting the skills employers need now and in the future
  • Exploring the improved Career Insights pages on the Skills Connect website, including how they showcase regional growth sectors, career pathways and relevant training opportunities
  • How Skills Connect and regional programmes can support organisations and residents

There will also be opportunities to network, share local insights and identify opportunities for collaboration as we respond to future skills needs across the region.
