Summer Conference 2026 - Employers
Are you keen to support young people to prepare for the world of work? Would you like to help equip students with the skills they need to succeed?
Please join the Employer Focus morning at the West Sussex, Brighton and Hove Careers Hub Summer Conference on 7th July.
This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for networking, learning, and contributing to the continued careers success of our Hub schools and colleges.
09:30 Conference Morning Session - Employer Focus
The morning will be dedicated to you! We’ll kick off with a panel discussion featuring local employers, to reflect on this year's successful employer/student engagement through the Hub.
The discussion will showcase:
- How to provide meaningful opportunities for students
- Essential skills development
- Preparing young people for application processes
To get the most of this session, please complete the Employer Standards assessment to benchmark your current educational engagement. Your shared responses will inform the panel discussion on the day. Please register here to access the free online self-assessment tool.
Virtual Employer Standards Sessions
In advance of the conference, we will host virtual sessions to guide you through the assessment tool. If you'd like to attend one, please choose from the available sessions HERE. If none of these fit your schedule, please email kelly.parkhouse@westsussex.gov.uk to arrange a convenient time.
12:30 Networking Lunch
We will be joined by school and college leaders to network. Light refreshments will be served.
13:30 Conference Afternoon Session - Strategic Engagement
After lunch, we will explore strategic engagement and how linking careers to school improvement can drive success. Employers are welcome to stay and participate in the afternoon session, though we completely understand if you need to leave after lunch.
We look forward to seeing you there!
