Join us for a relaxed evening conversation with Jonny Martin, a Belfast-born, London-based composer, producer and songwriter whose work spans theatre, film, advertising and the charts.
With over a decade of experience across music for media and stage, Jonny's career is one of the most varied you'll find. He's had a song featured in the BAFTA Award-winning short film Home, provided scoring for the Sundance-premiered We're All Going to the World's Fair, and recently scored indie feature film A Night Like This. In theatre, he's been composer, musical director and arranger for productions including Flashdance and The 39 Steps, and he's worked as musical director for The Voice UK finalists and touring artists. His advertising work spans international campaigns for brands including ESPN, Ford, Dove, Google and Unilever.
As a songwriter and producer, Jonny recently produced the debut EP for Irish singer-songwriter Róise, which landed BBC Radio 1 and 2 plays and secured her a management and publishing deal.
We'll be chatting with Jonny about how a career like his actually comes together — saying yes to opportunities, staying open to where the work leads, and what it's really like working across so many different creative worlds. There'll be plenty of space for your questions too.
